Chief Physiotherapist
Dr. Sujin Sugunan BPT, MPT
Chief Physiotherapist & Founder, CarePlus Physiotherapy, Kochi
With [X]+ years of clinical experience across orthopaedic, neurological and post-surgical rehabilitation, Dr. Sujin Sugunan leads the physiotherapy team at CarePlus. Their practice covers everything from acute injuries and post-operative recovery to long-standing pain and age-related loss of mobility — with a particular focus on home-based rehabilitation for patients who cannot easily travel.
Much of that experience has been built at the bedside: working with families in their own homes, adapting programmes to the space and support actually available, and training attenders to help safely between sessions. It is where the practice's emphasis on clear communication comes from — a plan only works if the patient and the people around them understand it.

Professional philosophy & patient care
Assessment before treatment
A full history and physical assessment first — pain behaviour, movement, strength, posture and the activities you have stopped doing.
Explain everything, plainly
You should leave the first session knowing what is wrong, what the plan is and what your part in it looks like.
Measure, then progress
Exercise is progressed on evidence of change, not on a fixed calendar.
Treat the person, not the scan
Reports matter, but so do your age, work, home setup, sleep and confidence.
What to expect at your first consultation
- Conversation. Your symptoms, history, medications, scans and what you are finding difficult day to day.
- Physical assessment. Movement, joint range, muscle strength, posture, balance and functional tests relevant to your condition.
- Explanation. What we found, in plain language — and what it means for your recovery.
- Plan. Treatment approach, expected number of sessions, a home exercise programme and the review point where we check progress.
